Editorial Policy
Feeder Setup Guide follows a research-first method. Every published claim is traceable to a source the reader could open; every limit is named on the page itself, not hidden in a footnote; every experience label travels with the claim it modifies.
How this site researches
- Date-checked public specs. Product specs come from the manufacturer listing or product page, re-checked at publish and on each update. The date the spec was verified is recorded.
- 2026 roundup consensus. Where a claim is about category consensus (e.g. which feeders reviewers favor for photo quality vs. battery life), the article cites at least two independent 2026 reviews and labels the claim as research-based, not hands-on.
- Experience labels. Every claim on the site carries one of three labels: fact (sourced and dated), hypothesis (a reasoned expectation, not yet observed), or unknown (out of scope or not yet tested). A claim without a label does not appear on the page.
- Current product details. Amazon prices, availability, and plan terms can change. The site directs readers to the current listing instead of publishing stale price or stock snapshots.
The no-fake-testing rule
This site is run by a total beginner who is documenting a first setup, not by a reviewer with a testing lab. That is stated on the about page and it shapes what can appear on every article:
- If a product has not been used by the writer, the article says it is research-based. Period.
- Hands-on sections, when they appear, are dated and describe what actually happened — including failures, surprises, and things the manual did not mention.
- Roundup prose that compares multiple models is research-based on the same sources used by reputable independent reviewers, with dates. It is never presented as side-by-side lab testing.
- No “I tested 12 feeders over 6 months” framing will appear on this site unless 12 feeders were actually tested over 6 months. The site would rather be small and honest than large and fabricated.
What we will not claim
- We will not claim hands-on testing we have not done. If we have not used a product ourselves, the article says so.
- We will not invent quotes, ratings, or testimonials.
- We will not publish income predictions as fact. Any projections are labeled as assumptions.
- We will not use manufactured urgency, fake scarcity, or fake regret stories.
- We will not answer questions that need expert, legal, or medical credentials; those are handed to a qualified professional.
Affiliate programs and terms
Affiliate program terms are time-sensitive. We re-check the official program page on a fixed schedule and update articles whose terms or disclosures change. The date we last checked each program is recorded in the table below.

Where a program requires disclosure of its own, the required wording is added next to the plain sentence on the relevant page — not instead of it. The site-wide affiliate disclosure is on the disclosure page.

Every article shows a “Published” and “Updated” date, plus a “Sources verified” date. The dates are the receipt for the work above, not a stylistic flourish.
Sourcing rules
- Official manufacturer or program pages are the primary source for product and program facts.
- Independent reviews are used as cross-checks, not as the single source for a claim.
- User-generated content (forum posts, reviews) is not used as a sole source for a factual claim.
- Any claim with a number behind it carries the source inline or in a footnote.
Corrections promise
We take corrections seriously. If you spot a factual error, an outdated price, or a missing limit, please use the contact details on the about page. Include the page URL and, where possible, the source you are cross-checking against.
Material corrections are noted in the article’s review history and the “Updated” date is changed.
